Who is Jean-Christophe?

He is currently VP, Aftersales for Nissan Europe, as well as MD of the Nissan Motor Parts Centre. In his day-to-day role, he oversees all Aftersales operations across Europe. “This basically consists of everything the customer needs about in the Aftersales and accessories market” he says. He has a focus on continually improving the quality of customer service, developing new offers and products as well as meeting commercial deliverables on behalf of Nissan. He also oversees training activities. “Typically, I spend a lot of time leading teams in Montigny, Amsterdam and Regional Business units to ensure consistency and market adaptation and meeting dealers and their teams. I also ensure connections with Alliance colleagues to benchmark and share best practices.” he says.

 Career History

Before undertaking his current role, Jean-Christophe was Retail and Commercial Aftermarket Sales Director at Volvo Trucks in Europe from 2005-2010. His career began in 1992 at Automobiles Peugeot in an IT role, and he was also their Aftermarket Sales Director Europe from 2001-2005. His role prior to Nissan was as Parts, Service and Quality Plan Director, at CFAO. During his career, Jean-Christophe has worked in the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy and France.

Achievements

“During my time at CFAO, a French company that is strongly established, I oversaw the development and growth of a franchise in West Africa. This was an incredibly exciting project for me, as it allowed me to deliver quality products, and change the perception of our company in the region” Jean-Christophe says. He is also particularly proud of the fact that, during his time with the company, customer satisfaction levels increased considerably thanks to dedicated activities carried out. This evolution has been recognized by customers as well as manufacturers and has been a key driver to manage the teams and change mind-sets and culture sustainably.

 Personal Memory

During his time working with Volvo, Jean-Christophe’s team received the award for best performing region, two years in a row, for the French market. Another special memory, Jean-Christophe says, was “during my time at CFAO, whilst developping the African franchise. When I joined, there were zero African Directors from the local region, when I left, there were two. Diversity and recognition being key for me, I’m very proud of that”.

Why is Nissan different?

“I’d say the main difference, from places I have worked previously, is the amount of energy and drive, people here are constantly working to change and innovate” he says. “Also, people at Nissan generally have a lot of ambition, and that is shared across teams, which drives us to progress and achieve things.” Added Jean-Christophe.

Future Predictions

He believes the Electric Vehicle market has fully arrived, and is no longer a concept for the future. “We have a clear picture in certain markets, like Norway, as to what the market will look like elsewhere in the coming years” he says. Jean-Christophe believes this will have a considerable impact on the Aftersales market, and we need to anticipate and drive the change.
