NISSAN REPORTS MAY 08 SALES IN EUROPE
ROLLE, Switzerland (June 9th, 2008) - Nissan has reported 53,973 sales in Europe in May representing an increase of 8% year on year. A total of 283,607 units have been sold to date this year, up 31% on last year.
Key highlights
The Qashqai sold 17,560 units in May and the imminent additional shift at its manufacturing plant in Sunderland, UK will help support the demand of a 60,000 strong order bank.
Some Western Europe markets performed significantly in May. France sold 3,840 vehicles in May, up 22.9% against last year, Germany sold 5,033 units with an increase of 24.5% and Austria was up by 27.8% with 584 sales in May.
Infiniti sold 729 units in the Russian and Ukraine markets, up 18.7% against last year.
The X-Trail sold 5,124 units, up 45% against last year with the new model.
